Marley (Gramling) Cemetery

The Marley (Gramling) Cemetery is located Sullivan County, Missouri--the NE part of Section 22, Township 62 North, Range 20 West; about 2 miles South of Milan by the side of the road; The site used to be the Marley Farm ca 1953.

(Note: Rows 4, 5 & 6 are staggered & not in straight line with 1, 2, 3)

  1. Stone: "Marvin Gramling Oct 10, 1888 - Aug 4, 1968"
    In front of this is a flat military marker that reads: "James M Gramling, Mo Pvt 42 Co 164 Depot Brig WWI Oct 10, 1888 - Aug 4, 1968" (James Marvin Gramling, son of James & Nancy Gramling)

  2. James Gramling June 8, 1857 - May 20, 1930
    Nancy E Gramling Oct 16, 1860 - Dec 31, 1950

  3. GRAMLING
    Earl A Gramling 1891 - 1939 (May 13, 1891 - Sept 9, 1939)
    Ethel G 1894 - 1972 (Ethel G Murphy)

  4. Baby Boy Murphy son of Vert & Esther Murphy Oct 10, 1915
    (Note: Esther was Esther Gramling daughter of James & Nancy Gramling.)

  5. Philip Mac Murphy son of Mack & Ula Murphy May 28, 1938
    (Note: Baby Boy Murphy & Phillip Mac Murphy are a single flat stone.)

  1. Reuben A Gramling, died Mar 8, 1893 Age 65 years, 7 months
    (Note: This is a tall slender stone. Obituary for wife Harriet D Brandon Gramling states she is buried in Gramling Cemetery, but I did not find her stone. Reuben is father of James Gramling & Mary Jane Gramling Ford.)

  2. Just to the left of Reuben's stone is a small metal marker with a faded card, but it is readable:
    William P Gramling, died Feb 17, 1942 (Note: This is Reuben's son, William Penn Gramling.)

  3. To far right & set back some is flat stone:
    "Roy Allen Gramling 1911 - 1912" (son of Orlan Hamilton and Ida May Foster Gramling)
