BISHOFF in Sullivan County, Missouri
I am seeking information about Humphreys, Missouri. My mother, Lucy Bishoff Zimmerman was born October 8, 1911 in Sullivan County. I know that my grandmother ran a hotel/rooming house. Her name was Annie Francis Walls Bishoff and my grandfather, Lorenzo Dow Bishoff, worked for the railroad. They moved back to Kentucky not long after her birth. I would appreciate any information about the town or how to find out more about the town and possiblely my grandparents. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Sincerely,

I am searching for the following line of Dudleys; Nove Francis DUDLEY who was born in Sullivan County, Missouri in the town of Humphry on Sept 4th, 1884. His father was Charles Fremont "Buck" Dudley born in Indiana Dec 1856. His father was William Dudley born in Ohio in 1817. Williams father was John Dudley born about 1790 in Virginia. All of the above is known from personal family accounts.

Other information that we know of John through family history is that he was married to Docia Clevenger in Ohio on May 25th 1817. Docia is buried in Randolph County, Indiana. We are not certain where John is buried as Docia has a marker but none exists for John.

We believe That Rev. Ambrose Dudley is our John´s father. (Rev. Ambrose Dudley had a son John) However, it is told in data bases that Rev. Ambroses´ John is buried in Missouri and was married to a Parish or Parrish, it is reported. If there is any information on any of the above that you might assist with it would be greatly appreciated.

Would like any information on two homesteader families. James CONNER and Maj. William ALLEN. Both died in the 1850´s; buried in Brackett Cemetery in Sullivan County. Family lore is that James Conner came to Sullivan Co. from Indiana because he was a slave holder. William Allen was supposedly involved in the Texas wars. One of James Conner´s sons married one of Allen´s daughters. They are also buried in Brackett Cemetery. Any information about their history and their parents would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for decendants of Angeline LAWHORN DAVIS aka Ann DAVIS of Green City, Mo. Born 1842 in Hendricks County, Indiana, the daughter of Gilbury Lawhorn and Elizabeth Williams. Gilbury and Elizabeth were married 11/12/1828 in Hendricks Co.; they had 3 children: William 1829, Milly 1833, and Angeline June 1842; all born in Hendricks Co. Indiana. Gilbury brought his family to Sullivan Co. in 1860; Jackson Corner P.O. Box. Angeline was first married to someone named Eggman and gave birth to 2 daughters, Florence 1863 and Katie A, 1867. Next, she married Mitchell Davis, April 22, 1877 in Green City. Their children were Almira 1878, William 1889 and Mitchell 1883. The 1900 census of Sullivan County shows Ann Davis widowed and her sons William age 20, and Mitchell age 17. Also that Ann gave birth to 7 children with 6 living. My grgrgrandfather was Gilbury. Angeline was alive in 1919, as the last living child of Gilbury Lawhorn. I hope there is someone in or around Green City, Pennville, Unionville, who may have information to share about this family. The family belonged to the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church. I will really appreciate a response as my mother Ruth Frances Lawhorn Twist is 84 and she has information to share about her father Benjamin Franklin Lawhorn and grandfather Zachary Taylor Lawhorn.
